The Sweater Song began as a Mike/Nick piece, written before Down With May formed, about a day on San Francisco's Haight Street. It is an homage to beautiful San Francisco women and Weezer's song "Undone". In the early months of our band's life, we learned and performed Sweater Song regularly, but we gradually removed it from our lineup. Months later, it reemerged spontaneously during a live performance with good reception, and it eventually earned a place on the album.
